The Immanuel Project is a Bradford based charity with the mission of providing meals and support to the homeless and more vulnerable people in our community.
We are a voluntary charity based at the Life City Hub, Chester Street, in Bradford City Centre opening each Monday, serving an average of 150 to 170 guests each week. A typical day consists of offering breakfasts, toast, hot drinks, a two course hot meal as well as such treats as scones, cakes, biscuits and chocolate depending on what we can afford to buy or have had donated at the time.
We also offer pastoral guidance and physical help, not only by our expert in house team, but also by the many other Bradford services and organisations that exist to help those more unfortunate than ourselves. Each week we have a Doctor and medical team in attendance, and occasionally a chiropodist and hairdresser, all of whom give their time free of charge. We give out clothing, household items and toiletries from our store and also food parcels to those in need.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all at FGH from The Trustees, volunteers and guests of the Immanuel Project for your kind contribution and support for our Christmas Party. For the second year running FGH have donated over 200 Christmas presents (packs of socks for men, scarves for ladies and cuddly toys for children).
These fabulous gifts have been added to a Christmas presents ‘goody’ bag comprising of food and toiletries and were handed out by Santa at this years Immanuel Project Christmas Party. The party was attended by over 200 guests who were served a Christmas banquet by more than 50 volunteers.
A fun filled day started with hot drinks, carols, a film, a turkey meal with all the trimmings, mince pies and cream followed by a sack full of Christmas goodies for each guest from Santa brought the day to a successful conclusion.
All of this really helps make a difference to so many … but, we really couldn’t do it without your kind help … whether it be the magnificent Life City building to carry out our mission, the financial support for our weekly expenses or major purchases, donations of food and other every day essentials, contribution to our Christmas Party or the many numerous tasks performed each week by our dedicated team of enthusiastic and hard working volunteers … it would not be possible without the generous support from many within the community of Bradford.
So, once again many thanks, not just from The Immanuel Project Trustees, but also on behalf of those who aren’t able to thank you for themselves. Believe us, they appreciate it so much.
Finally, may we wish everyone at FGH a Merry Christmas and all the very best for a happy and prosperous 2017.
