In preparation for the Autumn Winter 2017 new season the Kaleidoscope Homes Buying & Marketing teams recently took part in a product launch event in the Penthouse Suite at the beautiful St Martin’s Lane Hotel in London.

The team along with the PR, PHA Media arranged a selection of items from our new Homes product ranges ready to share with representatives from the press.

The suite’s dining table was set for a sumptuous dinner and the bed was dressed with exclusive jacquard & embroidered bedding and cushions. We took cabinets and chairs to sit alongside the suite’s own furniture; these were dressed with our latest decorative accessories, cushions and throws. We even created a grotto of garden furniture and accessories which was lit by our own twinkling fairy lights.

We weren’t the only ones who loved the overall effect! The hotel manager, intrigued at what was going on in his best suite, came to look and was so impressed with what he saw, he asked how he might purchase products for the use within the rest of the hotel!

The event started 8.30am which is a popular time slot with busy journalists like popping by on their way into the office. The novelty of creating their own breakfast at the “DIY Toast Bar”, (involving a range of bread, bagels, crumpets, toppings, fruit and decorations make their own unique breakfast, including real edible flowers!) There were some very colourful and creative toppings prepared throughout the morning and it certainly proved to be a talking point as everyone mingled in the kitchen deciding what to have next. It goes with saying really that all the toasters used were from Kaleidoscope’s kitchen range!

We exceeded the number of attendees of last season’s event with representatives from Woman, Chat, Woman & Home, The Telegraph, Good Housekeeping, Prima, Ideal Home, Livingetc, London Evening Standard and the Daily Mirror attending, to name but a few. There were also many bloggers and freelance journalists.

Ginevra Benedetti who writes for Style At Home and Ideal Home was quoted as saying “It’s amazing to see all the items in lifestyle format in the suite so I can picture them in the AW17 stories”.

Carrie Taylor from Woman & Home said” Thanks for showing me around. I’m very impressed with the Kaleidoscope home offering and will without a doubt be in touch to request samples and images in the future”.

Molly Holt – Mirror online “Thanks so much for having me today. It’s great to see the collection – I will make sure to be in touch with image requests”

Thea Babington Stitt – Country Homes & Interiors “This is a really great press day – I’m loving all of the rooms! I have noted down which bits I like and will get the team to request the high res. Really lovely space and love how it’s been styled!”

The hashtag for the event #KaleidoscopeAW17 reached a total of 45,581 accounts and achieved a total of 165,710 impressions on Twitter. We also used Instagram & Instagram Stories to broadcast live from the event. The Facebook post from the event reached 4,000 Facebook accounts.

At 12.00pm the event finished and everyone within the Kaleidoscope & PHA teams busily gathered and packed all the samples and carried them into the lift, down through the hotel Reception area and around the corner to where our courier had arranged to meet us. There on the road-side in the middle the theatre district, causing a bit of stir,  we packed everything safely back onto the van ready to be delivered back to Vicar Lane and the Listerhills sample room. A busy morning but a productive and enjoyable one!

Very shortly after the event Good Housekeeping called and asked for imagery from our lifestyle look book to use in an upcoming trends feature. Your Home called in for cut outs and lifestyle shots for a “natural living” September feature. The Evening Standard called in for images for an upcoming feature and Ideal Home expressed interest in using our products in their Christmas issues following the event.

Now, with all the product safely back here in Bradford, we are preparing ourselves for the finalisation of our SS18 ranges and wonder what our public relations agency will think of to entice the press to our next event!
